Readers of The New York Times may be familiar with the popular column Modern Love, recurring since 2004, but many may not know that according to Daniel Jones, the editor of the column, about 99.5% of submissions get rejected.\r\n\r\nIn response to this revelation, Hobart Pulp, one of the internet's favorite independent publications, has opened up their submissions specifically to those 99.5% of essays rejected by the editors at the Modern Love column, by calling (quite literally) for: "rejected Modern Love essays!"\r\n\r\nTo submit your piece, email Elizabeth Ellen at ee@hobartpulp.com. Note that only accepted submissions will be receiving replies. \r\n\r\nSubmissions can also include "fucked up Modern Love essays" for those pieces that contain a spirit alternative to those published in The New York Times column. These can be submitted the same as the rejected essays, just be sure to indicate what you are sending in the subject of your email to Elizabeth!\r\n<\/div> \n <\/div>
